I read somewhere that today is Gorgeous Grandmother Day. And since I’m a grandmother, I thought I’d make today’s blog about grandchildren. I have 5 of them…four boys and one girl. Out of six children, I’m pretty certain we will have a quiver full of precious grandchildren running around before we die of a VERY old age. Grandkids are fun. A lot more fun than their parents were. I had to worry about bills, food, doctors, potty training and schooling with their parents. But with the grandkids, I have none of that. All that bad stuff is left to my children. When they were babies and a diaper needed changing, I would just pass the little bundle off to mom or dad. It’s great being a grandparent. That is until one of your offspring decides to pack up and move away. I told my son when he informed me they were moving, that it was okay for him and his wife to move, but the kid had to stay. And then I realized if he did that, I would be back to worrying about bills, food, doctors, schooling, etc. So I let them go.
For all the other grandmas out there, I want to wish you a happy Gorgeous Grandmothers Day! Put your feet up, have all those sweet babies pile up in your lap and when you can’t breathe anymore, send them home!
