I’ve been reading a lot about menu planning. Menu planning is something I have done for most of my marriage. Having six children pretty much required it. Imagine if you will, walking into the kitchen at 5 pm, having no clue what you are going to feed a family of eight. It’s a bit daunting. Now I did say “most” if my marriage, because there were times where I just decided to “wing it”. Needless to say, I wasn’t very successful and my family didn’t eat well.
It seems that I’m doing a lot of experimenting lately. Last weekend I decided to give canning tomatoes a try. Hey! I’ve got a garden! And I’m certain those two tomato plants are going to yield me enough fruit to feed my family of 5 for the entire year, right? I have a confession. I’m in love with a mixer. I didn’t think it was possible to have such deep affection for a kitchen appliance, but I assure you it is. This thing has revolutionized how I cook! I have managed to use it every single day since I bought it. We have consumed more carbs this past week than we probably did the entire previous month! I can honestly say it’s worth every penny.
Just to get an idea of how many carbs we have consumed, I’m going to give you a breakdown of everything I made, using this fancy beast.
